IEE Distinguish Lecture - Dr Stevan Parkvall

sp02Today, 16 Feb 2012, School of Computer & Communication Engineering organized An International Academic Lecture Series in Conjunction with IEE Distinguish Lecture Tour (DLT). The event is a collaboration with Sustainable Development Unit (SDU), UniMAP and IEE COMSOC & VT Malaysia Chapter (MIMOS).  The speaker is Dr Stevan Parkvall, Principal Researcher at Ericcson Research, Sweden.

The talk provide an overview of the main Technology components of LTE-Advanced-enhanced multi-antenna transmission, relaying and carrier aggregation - as well as components such as CoMP and Dynamic TDD considered for future LTE releases. In addition to these techniques, meeting future demands for even higher data rates requires a denser infrastructure, for example in the form of a heterogeous deployment where low power nodes complement the basic coverage provied by a macro cell.

The attendance of this event are form staffs of School of Computer and Communication Engineering, engineers from Agilent, staffs from USM and UUM.
