An ”Introduction to LATEX” workshop was organised by the ENAC School of Computer and Communication Engineering (SCCE) in collaboration with the IEEE UniMAP Student Branch,  on the  30th March 2016 at MKM8. The workshop was  targetting at providing necessary knowledge and skills to postgraduate students in writing and producing high typographical quality of documents. Latex is an alternative to microsoft Word and is very useful for writing documents which involve algorithms, mathematical equations and references, thus is necessary for document-prepation system specifically for high-quality typesetting. It is also commonly used for medium-to-large technical or scientific documents. Some of its features include, but not limited to portability, flexibility, quality, compatibility, stability and scalability. As the use of Latex is currently receiving great attention from research communities and as the high-quality formatted paper is becoming the major concern for publication consideration, this workshop is significantly needed to provide our postgraduate students with the updated and trending knowledge in improving paper publications.

  1.   Objectives
    1. To equip and provide necessary knowledge for postgraduate students on how to write, handle mathematical equations, algorithms, figures and bibliographies in technical papers.
    2. To produce high-quality technical papers required for publications.
