The discussion session start off with the introduction to each personnel involve and their research area so that everybody is aware of available collaboration ideas. Everybody share their contact details and research department -attachments. Dr. Gopi Kurup highlight that as a business entity, all research are focus on business ideas for example work related to efficient network, fiber and wireless network. The ideas from universities need to be fit with the business solution related to the business niche. For example their business is to provide cloud based solution to IT solutions in Petronas an oil-gas business or for example in medical business which means the solution should be able to cater or fit client based platform. And TMRND can perform as a platform to enbridging research between universities and clients. He also highlight that the research should be product that a business can utilize, unique where it can fits larger ROI and the time frame of research should be quick. TMRND also work with certain global partner to provide certain expertise. TMRND however, did not provide any funding to research.

On internship programme, a representative from TMRND, Mr. Umar Abdul Aziz Yeop Hussin explains that they also have staff attachment programme as short as 2 months to 12 months. An example is Dr. Praba attachment from MicroE on photonic research. TMRND currently have few lecturers-around 10, from local and overseas (Korea) universities for attachment programme. The attachment programme also opens to postgraduate students and open throughout the year. For undergraduates’ students, industrial training with minimum 12 weeks is accepted however, only students with CGPA 3.5 are accepted and students need to apply 1 month prior to their training. Another programme available within TMRND  is Industrial PhD.
