Pauh Putra,  2 May 2017 - On 22nd and 23rd of March 2017, School of Computer and Communication Engineering (SCCE) in a

collaboration with Centre of Excellence for Advanced Sensor Technology (CEASTech), School of Electrical Systems Engineering (SoESE),

School of Mechatronic Engineering and School of Bioprocess Engineeringhad organized a program called “Learn & Play with Lego Robotics”

as followed:

Date: 22nd – 23rd March 2017

Time: 9.00 am – 5.00 pm

Venue: Meeting Room, School of Electrical Systems Engineering, UniMAP

No of Participants: 24

This program is designed for elementary students of age 9 to 12 years old. The objective of this program is to

promote and expose the students to the basic knowledge of robotics at their early age. The students were

given hands-on activities where they will learn how to build a robot and give instructions to them by develop

a program using Lego Mindstorms software. Step-by-step building instructions were given to help students

connect and control the robot. By the end of this program, students will able to:

  • Differentiate between a robot and a machine.
  • Model a wide range of problems such as building and dividing shapes, measuring and representing data.
  • Grasp the fundamental of programming, such as loops and switches.
  • Collaborate and communicate in their team and among other students in the wider classroom.

It is hoped that the program will nurture and spawn a greater number of young robotic engineers in the future.
